Hi I’m Chris Clarke standing for the ward of Abbott. I am married with one daughter who is schooled locally. I live within the parish that contains the Abbott Ward. I am a professional project manager and have worked domestically in the UK as well as having worked internationally. I am a current trade union member and have been throughout my working life. I have held delegate positions in trade unions that I have had membership in and therefore have experience in representing people. In my past trade union roles I have represented on committees at all levels which further illustrates my experience in representing people. In my past I was a qualified football coach and coached at senior level. One club that I was involved with as a senior coach had a program with the local youth offenders institution and I was tasked with integrating youth offenders within the senior team as a part of their pre-release program.
My concerns are the inequalities in society and the need for someone to represent the people who have lost voices, those who need representation whether individually or as a community. I think that my past experience in terms of representing people gives me good grounding to successfully give the people of Abbott Ward a say and a clear voice to bring about much needed change.
