I have recently been re-selected to stand again as the candidate for the Yeoman Hill Ward at the local elections in May 2019.
Although I have been a District Councillor up to the present day I want to continue within this role, working closely with the community to serve, developing an understanding of the day to day issues that there maybe in the ward.
During the time as a District Councillor I have taken on the role as a Governor at St Edmunds C of E Primary School, which over time has become a very successful educational environment. I believe that it is very important to build strong links in the community to serve so becoming a school Governor was just another duty that I was thrilled to take up.
Over the last several years I have continued to work closely with local resident dealing with the various issues raised. I have met many residents either out and about in the Ward, during regular drop in surgeries held, at community meetings or when I have been personally contacted. The one thing I feel is very important and that is to maintain a regular contact, making sure residents are able to contact me any day of the week throughout the year.
Over the coming weeks I along with my colleagues will endevour to knock on every door, meeting and talking to as many residents as possible. Mansfield Labour want to engage and learn from as many residents in the district as possible and listen to what you think is important and how you want your council to run.
