I am delighted to be able to let you know that I have been selected to stand as the Labour Party candidate for the Market Warsop ward at the Mansfield District Council elections next May.
I live in Warsop, I have family ties here, and I have known the town well for nearly forty years. Originally from Scotland, I have lived in various parts of the UK and abroad, having travelled widely through my work. I am now a pensioner, grandmother and great grandmother, but I still do some teaching. Throughout my working life I have always been involved in voluntary work; amongst other things, I have been a school governor, a housing and benefits advisor, a campaigner for minorities and have organised after-school and holiday clubs for children. Now I am keen to use those skills to fight for a better deal for Warsop residents.
As a fellow Warsop resident, I am aware of the many issues and concerns that we share. However, this ward covers a diverse area, and I am aware that the most important issues for you may well depend on where you live. Over the next few months I hope I will have the opportunity to meet you and to learn more about your neighbourhood.
I am proud to be part of a great team in Mansfield. The District Council elections will be held on 2nd May, 2019 and I hope that you will support us to transform Mansfield and Warsop.
