My name is Stuart Richardson I have been the Councillor for the Penniment Ward since 2011. I retired from Mansfield Metal Box in 2010; this give me the opportunity of spending more time working to address some of the everyday problems that residents encounter in their life. Importantly it allows me to act more strategically, for example I strenuously opposed the Market changes pushed through by the Mansfield Independent Forum which has culminated in the loss of income and degraded the West Gate area of the Town. I was part of the Labour Group that forced through allocation of funding to acquire and demolish the old hospital site on West Hill, giving way for the new Town View development. The current Mayor, Kate Allsop, opposed the acquisition of the site but was happy to cut the ribbon on the official opening of the Town View.
I handle case work virtually every week of varying degrees and that’s good because people know how to contact me and they know I will respond. To be able to do this for the next four years and continue the passion I feel for the area I need residents to vote for me on May 2nd.
