I’d like to introduce myself – I’m Sonya Ward and I’m standing to be the next Labour MP for Mansfield, Woodhouse and Warsop.
I’ve lived here for over 30 years and I know that our district and community have been through some big changes.
I’m standing for one simple reason – I believe Mansfield, Woodhouse and Warsop residents have been let down, and I know that we deserve better!
We’ve lost jobs and opportunities- but instead of focusing on sorting these problems out, the local Conservative MP has voted with the government for yet more cuts to our community. It’s becoming clear that the Conservatives will continue to cut rather than invest in our area. They don’t have our best interests at heart.
I’ll do things differently. I’m determined to make a real difference for you, your family and our community. I’ve worked across the district – I’m a former youth worker, and I’ve also worked in schools and for the NHS. So, I know how vital our public services and facilities are, and that cutting them is not the way for our district to flourish.
I’m regularly out in Mansfield, Woodhouse and Warsop, speaking with local people and hearing their concerns and ideas about how we can get Mansfield, back on track.
